Frequently asked questions
Frequently asked questions
Is this live trend data?
No. TrendingMemes is an editorial hub. The rotation is chosen and updated by hand — the current rotation is dated 27 October 2026. We do not track live view counts, scrape social feeds in real time, or claim real-time rankings.
What makes a meme 'trending' here?
A format earns a spot when classic templates are visibly being remixed again for current topics — new captions, new contexts, new communities picking them up. It is an editor's judgement call, stated openly, not an algorithmic score.
What is the meme of the day?
One format from the rotation, chosen deterministically by the calendar date — the same pick for everyone on the same day. It is a fun daily anchor, not a measured chart position.
Can I make these memes here?
TrendingMemes is the discovery hub. Each card links out to sister tools: find reaction versions on ReactionFinder, write captions on MemeCaptions, and build the image on MemeTemplateKit.
Are the images the original memes?
No. Every card is an original emoji recreation describing the format. The original photographs and artwork belong to their creators.
How is the meme of the day chosen?
Deterministically, from the calendar date: the day count modulo the number of formats in the rotation. Everyone sees the same pick on the same day, and it changes at midnight. No votes, no tracking, no live data.
Is the meme of the day the most popular meme today?
No — and we won't claim it is. It is a daily spotlight rotating through this week's editorial picks, nothing more.
How often is the rotation updated?
By hand, on an editorial schedule — the current rotation is dated 27 October 2026 and the date on the page always shows the last update.
